Oh So Good!!!!

I knew Kaiden was part of that group of Lairds. I had to go back and see if it said it was part of that series but it didn’t. So I knew. I absolutely loved this one. Such loyalty the two of them had to each other. And all the Lairds as well. Always there for one another. I loved the characters and storyline so much. Evelyn and Kaiden were both great characters. I absolutely loved how her brother got his comeuppance. It was excellent! I can’t wait to read about the other unmarried Lairds. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜💜😊😊😊😊😊

Wow, I loved this story! From the very first page I knew it was going to have a lot of emotions in it. Lord Kaiden wants peace from the fighting with Clan McEwan. He is willing to go so far as to marry the daughter of his enemy to get it. Only Laird McEwan doesn’t play fair, offering his bastard granddaughter instead of one of his daughter's! Thinking about ending the treaty before it even begins. Only Kaiden accepts Evelyn as he sees something in her that he admires her strength. Also, he sees the look in her eyes of sadness and fear which is wrong for one so beautiful. This story is about so much more than just our couple marrying. It is about clans, and evil and what it does to others. Both Kaiden and Evelyn have a lot to work through. He has never known how badly others can treat someone who is family till he meets her. She has been raised as less than a servant or prisoner. She is innocent and very naive, mistrusting any kindness shown to her. All she knows of Kaiden, and his people is what her rotten half-brother has filled her head with. None of it seems to fit the man she is married too. I love the begging part of the story, smiled every time it came up!!! Don’t wait, rush and get your copy, your favorite drink, and get started. You will not be able to put it down... I know I will be rereading this one again. It's a keeper for sure. I received an ARC from the author and wish to thank her. This is my honest opinion and am freely giving it.

Marrying the enemy.

Great book. Kaiden, laird of the O’Duncan clan wants peace with his long time enemy the McEwan clan. So, he proposes a peace treaty sealed with the marriage to one of the McEwan granddaughters. Evelyn is the illegitimate granddaughter of the McEwan laird and she is the one offered to Kaiden. He is offended at first even though Evelyn is beautiful. He believes the McEwans are trying to pull something over on him, but he accepts. That starts a journey of discovery between to two, treachery from her family, and growing passion between Kaiden and Evelyn. I loved the characters and the story.

great highland romance

This is the story of a young woman born out of wedlock, the illegitimate daughter of a Laird whose mother died during childbirth. She was raised in her grandfather’s but treated less than a servant. She was promised to a young Laird for the end of theirs wars but her grandfather hoped he would reject her because of her birthright but when she was love at first sight her half brother set out to kill both of them. Thru many struggles will they finally find peace of will the wars continue.

An amazing journey of adventure, mystery and romance

A very interesting journey of adventure and romance with amazing characters and story line. The love that forms between the laird and his new bride is so inspiring and heartwarming. I love the adventure and thrill throughout the story with all its turns and twists that make it more interesting. An incredibly engaging story with a great happy ending. Love it! I highly recommend this amazing book.

This is honestly one of the worst romance books I've read. I didn't enjoy any of it. I almost DNF'd it, but I forced myself to finish it. The dialogue was bad, and the Scottish accent really just sounded like something an American would write, because that's how they think Scottish people talk.

Even the sex was bad. THEY REFERRED TO HIS PENIS AS A SWORD! Please?!? I rolled my eyes so hard. I am honestly shocked at all the 4-5 stars on these reviews.

Great story!

Kaiden was a laird who needed to marry an enemy’s granddaughter. It was needed for a peace treaty. Evelyn was to marry, but for years was like a prisoner in her own home. Her farher had her out of wedlock and brought shame to the clan. Kaiden saw her and he felt a connection, she also was so beautiful. Evelyn’s brother Nial, tried to get rid of her and use her to continue clan wars. A very good story that needs to be read. You will enjoy it.

From despised to under suspicion!

A book, while well written, I think I read this book a few years ago. Kaiden goes to the castle of Clan McEwan to fetch his bride. When he arrives he is presented with Evelyn, the illegitimate granddaughter, he’s in a bind. If he doesn’t accept her, clan war continues but can he accept her and trust her in his clan? Intriguing story.

Evelyn and Laird Kaiden are a match to be reckoned with. They are head strong determined and it was intriguing to see who would break first. Their marriage was to ensure peace between the clans but as feelings mount will a love match be on the horizon as well. This story kept me glued to the pages.
I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.

Traitors

Evelyn is given as a bride to Laird of a clan that was at war with her family but as an illegitamite daughter of the clan they thought that they would be able to sneak in an kill her and blame it on her husband. Things didn't work out for her brother but for Evelyn and her husband.

Enemies to lovers

Evelyn was offered to the enemy as a peace treaty. Her cousin Niall tried to insert fear into her about her new husband, but once she discovered her husband was a fair and good laird she fell in love with him. Another great book full of twist by Maddie and highly

Love in the Highlands

An easy read taking the reader to the past in the land of Highlander's and their Ladies. I enjoyed the plot and the characters. The book took my mind off today an allowed me to escape into the past where their survival was very different to anything we know today. No cliffhanger and a HEA with a bit of steam. All that I was looking for.

Kaiden & Evelyn !!!

This a very good read, I really enjoyed this story of Kaiden and Evelyn. The plot, action, betrayal, all the things that make a very good read, I do wish the anger and hatred that Niall had was more in-depth than just land and his father affair because he was filled with Hate and he is a main character in the story. Anyway it's A good read.

I found this book to be an excellent read, thoroughly enjoying the captivating story of Kaiden and Evelyn.

This book has love, hatred and betrayal, elements that truly enhance the narrative. However, I did find the Scottish accent challenging to read at times. Despite this, the compelling storyline kept me engaged throughout.

Laird Kaiden O’Duncan is done with wars and the mess they cause. He is prepared to make a peace treaty with Laird McEwan, sealing it with a marriage to one of his granddaughters. He is hopeful that the other clan upholds the treaty and both lands can prosper.
As he is offered his bride, he is still worried about whether or not to trust the Laird McEwan or not. But, he accepts his bride and they proceed back to the O’Duncan castle for the wedding, still feeling like something isn’t right.
This book is a great read, you don’t want to stop till you’re finished. The characters are well fleshed out and very relatable.

They marry to bring peace to their clans, but one clan has other intentions. The heroine is very stubborn and fights her attraction to her husband. The hero definitely want peace, but now he also wants love. There is action as there is fighting and deception.

Book two did not disappoint. Another Lairdsthis one is Kaiden. Evelyn Is the, well, reluctant bride to be. Expecting something different he wants to refuse her. One thing leads to another and getting there was all the fun! Excellent book can't wait to see what happens next.

Even though Evelyn's life was far from perfect, she still retained a strong spirit! She fought for what she believed. KAIDEN was shocked at her mistreatment but also surprised by the spirit she retained despite her upbringing.

Good Historical Romance

I enjoyed this book. I was pleased you got the worst of the story before the last chapter and they were enjoying the birth of their daughter. It is sad the way the child was blamed for being born out of wedlock.

Another wonderful book

I loved everything about this book as I've loved all of Maddie MacKenna's books. I love the Scottish medieval period and any books written around it. Love. Betrayal, truces, and jealously all make these books great to read.
