How the Sound of Freedom film went viral. Sound of Freedom film was intended to have a limited release, an independent movie that came to film theaters in the US last year, and it blew up on social media in 2023. Something that secured worldwide distribution for the film. This can happen to you, too. You might be going viral from one day to another, but there’s a lot of work behind it. Today, I want to share three things that the film Sound of Freedom did to go viral.➡️ Posting regularly. Their social media constantly worked with new content and new content creation.➡️ They used hashtags. They use relevant hashtags to attract the target audience.➡️ They invited influencers to talk about the film. As a bonus, the film producer, a very well-known celebrity in Mexico, kept talking about the film, did interviews, and did live on his social media.     Update: My armFor those who don’t know, I broke my arm last month in Bali, had surgery, and I am in recovery. Many of you have asked me how I am doing with my arm. It’s been a little more than 3 weeks since surgery, and it has been a little more than a month since my accident. A simple, tiny but bad decision changed my whole summer. I can move my fingers, and I am recovering more and more my hand mobility. Every day, I can see some improvement and feel happy about it. I have learned from this situation that I need to be patient, something I am not great at. Also, I noticed the little improvements in my daily life; I see with my hand and arm. If only we focus more on the present than the future, we could see how much we win daily. This is my biggest learning. The improvements I am seeing are not out of the blue. I have been consistent with my hand exercise; 3 to 5 times a day, I have to repeat some exercises that help me improve my mobility, and even when it hurts like a bi/ch, I do them anyway.Mentally, it has been challenging because I couldn’t do much, but thankfully, I have a wellness toolbox that I can count on even when I feel like not doing it. Meditation has been a savior these days, as well as writing on my phone or even writing with my left hand, plus therapy. Business-like, I am still going, thanks to my clients who have been patient with me, but at the same time, I have been super productive, and I have been super inspired. The secret to getting out of any discomfort and reaching success is consistency. This is what I have been doing every day. Initially, it will always look like a lot, but the mind, body, and spirit can handle it.     Drama on FB groupsOne place you can find me is online, and I have found Facebook groups beneficial for networking, meeting people, and creating a community.Lately, I have encountered terrible admins in these groups. They have poor leadership skills, which is a shame for the community.For example, in the group, I encountered an admin who wanted to educate me on how to do business and how much I should charge. I wrote about this in another post.Last week, I introduced myself to a large FB group of filmmakers. While I complimented the admin for the hard work in maintaining a large community like that, he dedicated himself to disapproving of how I did things under my post.Later that week, I found out that he had kicked out the other admins in the Facebook group, and he had practically taken ownership of something that wasn’t his.We joined these communities with an open heart, eager to share and learn as much as we could, and then this happened. I just know I need to teach what I know with integrity, professionalism, and love because this is the only way I can contribute to making the film industry a better place for us and the younger generations.     I wouldn’t be questioned about my business skills or terms and conditions if I were a man. This week, not 1 but 2 men undermined my work and how I do business. One of them was a client who breached his contract, and after letting him go with a pendant payment, he had the nerve to trash me in a community. The founder of that community summoned me to a meeting, questioning why I charge what I charge because, in his eyes, that’s not his way of doing business. It looks like I need to be cheap and give away my work, 16 years of experience, and more than 135 films because that’s not enough. It wasn't wrong that his community member didn't read or comply with his legal agreement, but how dare I charge so much? 😒 I even offered them something to meet in the middle when I could have left the situation there, but I just wanted to do what I love. Until I talked to my legal team because one thing I have learned while in business is to invest, protect myself, and have the support I need.They advised me to enforce my legal terms and boundaries and end all relationships with them. So I did! Let’s face it! A businesswoman is not treated the same as a man in the film industry. Sadly, men look you down; they don’t want to see you succeed, and if they can, they will crush you down. This happens because of the patriarchal society we come from. I am not saying all men are the same, but sadly, there are many with this mentality, and I won't allow this kind of man near me, my brand, my business, or my community. I dream of a society and film industry where men and women are equal. Men can work in harmony with women without overlooking them. Women are free to speak and earn what they want without overexplaining why they do what they do. My mission is to create a community where men and women work together, supporting, motivating, and inspiring each other. If this resonates with you, my community and doors are always open for you.
