    Ashworth wait

MANCHESTER UNITED are ready to wait another NINE MONTHS for Dan Ashworth to start work as their new sporting director.

    Branthwaite FFP blow for United

Man Utd's hopes of signing Jarrad Branthwaite could be blown.

Newcastle are close to signing Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin meaning the fee for the striker will bolster their Profit and Sustainability rules.

Sean Dyche's side will therefore be in no rush to sell Branthwaite as the money made from Calvert-Lewin's sale would improve the chance of avoiding a potential breach.

This means United will have to meet the Toffees £70m price tag if they want Branthwaite.

    Ally McCoist transfer tips

Ally McCoist advised Manchester United to try and sign Fulham star Joao Palhinha as well as Borussia Dortmund ace Niclas Fullkrug.

    McCoist told early payout:

In the midfield, Manchester United need somebody in there. I do feel for United because they couldn’t get a level of fitness out of the central defenders, so that has got to change, but they need more in the middle of the park.

I think Joao Palhinha could be exactly what Manchester United need. He has had another good season at Fulham and he walks into that team in my opinion. That would be strengthening it right away.

But if I was at Manchester United I would bring Niclas Fullkrug in and I don’t even think it would be a gamble, he is scoring goals for Borussia Dortmund and for Germany, he’s got the track record that indicates he can score goals. He is no-nonsense.

Manchester United are aiming to sign at least two new players before the start of pre-season next month.

According to Give Me Sport, part owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS are trying to get some quick business done.

However, it won't be easy with Euro 2024 taking place this summer.

Plus, United won't be able to attract the same kind of star quality as last year as they missed out on Champions League qualification.

    Jadon Sancho advice

Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke advised Jadon Sancho to pursue a loan deal with a top club to wait out manager Erik ten Hag's tenure at Old Trafford.

Yorke told Best Payout Online Slots:

It's an uncomfortable situation for Jadon Sancho, the manager has won the battle in the end and he'll look for a way out of Man United now.

If Sancho played under Erik ten Hag again and had one bad performance, everyone would be pointing their finger at him.

Sancho is more than good enough to play for another team in the 'Big Six', he'll want to play for another top team.

He might go on another year-long loan to a top club, maybe Chelsea or abroad somewhere like Barcelona, then he'll see if Ten Hag gets sacked, then he can kick-start his Man United career.

If I was Sancho, I'd sit tight for a bit and negotiate a loan so I can see the manager's situation.

    Rooney on Memphis

Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney revealed he once gave Memphis Depay a "talking to" after he turned up to a game in a cowboy hat during his time at Old Trafford.

Firstly, you could never knock his work rate. In training, he worked really hard every single day in order to prove himself.

It was made more of a few things off the pitch I have spoken about.

I was at a reserve game once being a bit lowkey, and he turned up in a Rolls Royce and a cowboy hat. I had to speak to him, so that was Memphis.

    Ten Hag backlash Exclusive

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is in hot water with the club's hierarchy after revealing details of their Ibiza summit.

Ten Hag was on holiday in Spain when United officials turned up on his doorstep to ask him to continue as manager.

They also informed the Dutchman they had spoken to other candidates, such as Thomas Tuchel, but wanted to keep him on.

The 54-year-old was understandably angry with how he had been treated and the way in which this message was delivered when he was supposed to be on a relaxing break.

But new part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team are unhappy that what they thought was a private meeting was made public by Ten Hag on Dutch television this week.

The Red Devils want the ex-Ajax boss to sign a new three-year deal but that is understandably some way from being agreed as yet.
